Transferring an Account
You can transfer securities from an existing brokerage account
at another firm to your BestVest Investments, Ltd. account at
any time.
Account transfers are simple to do. For a full or partial transfer,
just complete one of our account transfer forms and enclose
a copy of your most recent statement.
After your request is received, the process takes 10 to 15 business
days to complete.
When you make a broker-to-broker transfer, make sure that the
account registration is the same on both accounts or the transfer
won't work. In other words, you can't transfer your individual
account at another firm into your joint BestVest Investments,
Ltd. account, or your individual account at another firm into
your BestVest Investments, Ltd. IRA account. When transferring
between joint accounts, the lead party must be the same on both
accounts, for example, an account titled John and Jane Doe at
the other firm will only transfer into an account titled John
and Jane Doe at BestVest Investments, Ltd., not Jane and John
Doe.
Once you have opened an account, you can arrange electronic
funds transfers to your BestVest Investments, Ltd. account from
another financial institution as follows:

Wire transfers typically show on deposit in your account the
day following receipt by our bank. Wire transfers are typically
considered as "cleared" funds upon receipt.

Transferring an account from another
brokerage firm:
You can transfer your entire account from another brokerage
firm to BestVest Investments, Ltd. simply by having an existing
BestVest Investments, Ltd. brokerage account and then filling
out an Account
Transfer Form, known as an ACAT form, and sending it to
BestVest Investments, Ltd.. Please enclose a copy of a recent
account statement from your other broker so we can verify
the information necessary for processing. We will contact
the transferring brokerage firm and make all the necessary
arrangements. This form will transfer all securities, cash,
mutual funds, and any margin debit balance existing at your
other broker. Remember that all parties to the account must
sign the form.
When you make a broker-to-broker transfer, make sure that
the account registration is the same on both accounts or the
transfer won't work. In other words, you can't transfer your
individual account at another firm into your joint BestVest
Investments, Ltd. account, or your individual account at another
firm into your BestVest Investments, Ltd. IRA account. When
transferring between joint accounts, the lead party must be
the same on both accounts, for example, an account titled
John and Jane Doe at the other firm will only transfer into
an account titled John and Jane Doe at BestVest Investments,
Ltd., not Jane and John Doe.
If all you have in your other brokerage account is cash or
money market funds, then the ACAT transfer will be rejected
by your other broker. In this instance, your must liquidate
your money market shares and have your other broker send us
a check payable to BestVest Investments, Ltd.. for benefit
of your name and account number.
Once we have received the paperwork, the transfer process
typically takes from two to four weeks to complete. When the
transfer is completed, you will receive a letter of notification
from BestVest Investments, Ltd. informing you of the completed
status of the transfer.
There is a brief period of time at the end of the process
when your account is debited at your other broker but does
not yet show up credited to your BestVest Investments, Ltd.
account. We will notify you as soon as your securities are
on deposit at BestVest Investments, Ltd..
